Dear Jacuqeline,
In my opinion, perhaps, the breakdown of electrical appliances may be a coincidence. Especially if it is a rented place and is not most of the items are not new.
Perhaps, it is best to monitor the situation, first.
Since you are new to Feng Shui, do try to read up more - especially on the Shapes and Forms Feng Shui.
