Dear Anon,
Yes, many of us do face `constraints' with window behind us desk and the desk is facing away from the sea view.
Usually, the best option is a low cabinet or (back cabinet) if possible.
The other best option is to sitting facing a good direction and the table should have a good support i.e. rest on one side of the wall.
Looking at it is still better to sit at this position than sitting with the back against a door or other `more' inauspicious locations.
We may have to depend more on other `Luck' e.g. especially the Feng Shui of the Home.
