Dear Jane,
In my opinion, this is the first time I come across the comment that growing money plants would take away luck.
Perhaps, some may consider the money plant a vine. This is because, it has the ability to grow roots and cling on to walls. Maybe because of this perception that it may take away luck.
Otherwise, in my opinion, there should not be any issue on this.
