Dear Ian,
I can quite understand your confusion here.
In this website, and for those trying to find the main entrance direction:
1. Always find the centrepoint of the house and from the centrepoint, locate the compass direction of the main entrance.
Reference:
https://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm
2. If you are referring to the use of the `Bagua' as those taught by Black Hat Sect or BTB .. then in my opinion, this is not the correct way to `practise' FS. BTB type of practise is not recognised form and a large measure is focused on making one purchase objects etc... and other marketing ploys to get one to depart with their money.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil

Excellent site. The best for beginners and for more advanced "amateurs". Hopefully, I will continue learning from it, and eventually become a premium member. Keep it up and prosper.... (I am learning that myself from my slow progress in I Ching and Fengshui).
