Dear Wasis,
1. The term " Flying Star Feng Shui " and " Xuan Kong Feng Shui " is one and the same.
2. In fact, if one looks carefully at the naming convention in this forum, under the topic header "Flying Star (Xuan Kong Fei Xing)" one will come to understand that Flying Star is indeed Xuan Kong Fei Xing.
3. As money plants prefer some shade, in country which is near the equator, and subject to direct sunlight; it is very common to see money plants planted just below expressway flyovers i.e. the shaded ground.
These money plants grow very well such that they look like a vast carpet `grass' covering these areas.
As to whether one can plant a money plant in the soil; it can be done.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
