Dear "NG",
Lets look at this example:-
https://www.geomancy.net/mypictures/cgi-bin/mypictures.cgi?search=centrepoint&img=8&cat=all&bool=and
(for some of you, if the link is broken, please `cut-and-paste' the entire link above to your browser and load the file).
Under the above link, please look at:
1. Graphic file: compass21.jpg and compass21a.jpg
2. The file name: compass21.jpg shows the actual house layout.
3. Let's look closely at file name: compass21a.jpg
Try to click on the thumbnail image to show you an enlarged picture of this layout plan.
3.1 You will find the actual centrepoint shown in the picture as " 1 ". Number "2" is the extended centrepoint where we take the compass reading to the `extended' main door (the green dot).
We measure the direction of the main door from " 2 " to the green dot.
4. As I mentioned in some of the messages, one cannot simply provide a universal method as to the direction of the main entrance door. IT DEPENDS.
Thus, if you have a layout plan that you like me to look at, feel free to upload it as an attachment to a message to this forum. As no two layout plans are similar (in shape/size and dimension). Therefore, it is not correct to give a general statement but rather, examples can help clarify the situation.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
