I share a house with my sister who is a non-believer. We have a mountain star available in our kitchen at the North. I can not convince her to have a picture of a mountain on the wall, and she will not have a shelf. We currently have a bare wall with a large Chinese style plate, which was my Fathers hanging on the wall. It is blue and white, weighing 1.4 kilos, and it measures 38cm across. It depicts a bamboo plant, and I think a water lily. Could the plate be sufficient to activate the star? My other thought is I could buy a crystal 30–40 cm, either cut or uncut and hang it high on the wall. Will either of these options be sufficient to active the mountain star? The Stars in the North are:

My other question is should one only activate mountain stars if they are in an auspicious sector?
